About me
It started with a dumbbell my father made for me in a factory.
That was 1992. I was in 7th grade and had no gym membership, no coach and no plan. Just a homemade weight and a curiosity about what my body could do.
That single piece of iron changed the direction of my life.
33 Years Later
I still train at least three times a week. I am on my bycicle whenever I can. The gym has never left my life — not completely. There were years I trained less, years I trained more, but I never stopped learning.
Because that’s the thing most people miss.
It’s not just about showing up. It’s about understanding what you’re doing and why. I spent years reading, researching and educating myself — not because I had to, but because I wanted to stop wasting effort and start getting real results.
Concentration is everything. A strong mind builds a strong body — and that principle has guided every workout I’ve done for over three decades.
And if I see someone in the gym squatting on their toes instead of their heels — I’m going to say something. Not because I was asked. Because watching someone head toward a knee injury when you know how to prevent it isn’t something I can walk past.
That instinct to help is the same reason this site exists.
The 17kg Wake-Up Call
Despite all that, I know what it feels like to carry too much weight.
There was a period in my life where I became obese. Not overweight — obese. And I had to face that honestly before I could do anything about it.
I didn’t transform myself with an extreme gym programme or a complicated supplement protocol.
I made three simple changes and stuck to them:
- No eating after 6pm
- No carbohydrates or cooked meals — protein and raw vegetables only
- Light ab exercises after work — nothing intense
That’s it. No magic. No shortcuts. Just consistency with the basics.
And I lost 17kg in about 2 months.
I have to be honest with you though — losing that much weight that quickly isn’t healthy. It’s too fast and I wouldn’t recommend anyone try to replicate it. Your body needs time to adjust and extreme rapid weight loss comes with real risks. What I took from that experience wasn’t the method — it was the proof that consistency with simple changes works. The right pace matters as much as the right approach.
That experience taught me something most fitness advice overcomplicates:
You don’t need to do everything. You need to do the right things — consistently.
Not every product, plan or programme on the market is worth your money or your trust. Knowing the difference matters enormously — and that’s something I learned through living it.
The Sleep Connection Nobody Talks About
Here’s something I noticed about myself long before I ever read about it in a research paper:
When my sleep drops below 8 hours, everything suffers.
My motivation disappears. My workouts feel harder. My body doesn’t recover the way it should. And the results I’ve worked for start to quietly slip away.
Sleep isn’t a passive activity. It’s when your body does its most important work — repairing muscle, regulating hormones, controlling appetite and yes, burning fat.
That connection between sleep quality and metabolic health is the foundation of everything you’ll find on this site.
Why I Built SlimmaSleep
I’m not a personal trainer. I’m not a nutritionist or a doctor.
What I am is someone who has spent over 30 years living this — making mistakes, learning from them, and building a level of practical knowledge that no qualification can fully replicate.
I built SlimmaSleep for one reason:
If I can contribute to changing even one person’s life — that’s enough.
Everything I share here is based on real research, real experience and genuine honesty. I don’t recommend products I wouldn’t consider using myself. I don’t write reviews that aren’t grounded in what the science and the seller actually claims.
No fluff. No false promises. Just what actually works.
One thing I know for sure — change, big or small, comes with little steps. And those little steps climb a high mountain.
